–Aimee S. (5 star review on Yelp!)

I took Roe’s bread making class this past weekend. As soon as I walked in, there were fresh bread and scones to nibble on (yes!) The shop is on one side with loads of fun gadgets and gifts, and the kitchen is on the other side where class takes place. The kitchen was light, airy and spacious. I really appreciated how Roe took us through the motions, top to bottom, on baking a beautiful loaf of bread, with zero pretentiousness. It was my first time gettin’ down with dough and I felt totally capable with his guidance. I particularly enjoyed the details he included; historical tid-bits, personal anecdotes, tips and a free science lesson to boot! I was really inspired by taking this class and not only took home some dough to experiment with, but also a beautiful cookbook, some kitchen tools and flour that had me fired up and cooking ALL day today. I’ll definitely be checking out some other classes; sauerkraut, or pickling perhaps? Thanks Roe!

The FlicFloc [oat roller] is elegant and simple. There’s not much to say about it. You put grain in the top, turn the handle, and deliciousness discharges into a glass, thoughtfully provided. I’ve owned a KoMo grain mill for a year now, and it’s been a life changer in the kitchen. I really like having access to freshly milled grains when I need them.”

“I flaked! Then I cooked the oatmeal with raisins, and it was fabulous. How often does one become volubly enthusiastic about oatmeal? But it was so good, it was like a different cereal. And I was tickled that I could make these flakes with such an elegant, simple machine. I love it! It is the coolest thing. [xxxx] and [xxxx] are definitely getting one for Christmas”

“This place is awesome. Often times, as a DIY foodie, you can feel alone/crazy (or entirely reliant on the Internet!). King’s Roost brings all the stuff I need in one place, and inspiration for new hobbies! I love that I can now buy freshly-milled four at a reasonable price. I don’t think I can ever go back to the bagged stuff. So much more flavor and fresh!”

— Lydia Gonzalez

“I am a happy customer and a new customer for life! Loved the grand opening and thanks for a new healthy living for me and my son ;)”

— James Healy

“This is superb! Down to earth, clever, but not too earnest. I’m planning a few DIY projects of my own with a little help from them!”
